In every story, I'm but a footnote.
An occassional sideways glance.
A noise in the next room.
Enough anonymity I remain unknown, unseen
flip the pages,
read between the lines.
a sigh,
a breath,
finding me there hiding.
used to being pushed aside
unnoticed and unwanted
And I stay silent,
While you pour the pain out
Thick and black as tar
Sticking to every moment of your life
Coloring everday.
I was given a role, stay silent and in the background, and I've obliged for far too long.
Your lies of loyalty
Your meaningless promises of love. Don't speak to me of family.
Don't come to me further
seeking pity,
I'll tell you where you can go when you're looking for sympathy.
I'll have no more of this lie.
You speak so much of kindness and love, yet have shown so little to those who love you.
Share your secrets on a public stage, like you don't love and crave the attention.
Your longing for the monster I fought for you when you couldn't, crosses a line.
Do you forget that you weren't the only one there.
you're speaking to an orphan here...orphaned in a way you've never known.
